Guessing Big Ideas in the Mobile Phone Industry

Mobile phone is so commonplace a gadget that there are children as young as three-year olds who already know how to operate a phone. Over the years, cellular phones have evolved in their functionalities and contributions to human affairs. From the basic call usage, phones now allow users to text, listen to music, play games and take photos.

Due to steady demand for more convenient and innovative phones, the mobile phone industry as a whole is highly competitive. It seems like the industry is always on a race for new and better features. It is also a constant guessing game as to what "big ideas" to come next from the phone makers and mobile service providers.

It was not too long ago when phone manufacturers were scrambling for ways to make their phones as small in sizes as possible. The idea then was that the smaller the phone, the cooler it was for hip users. There was also a point later on when music and camera capabilities were the rage among phone users. The more advanced the music player or the phone camera, the better quality the phone was. Recently, the trend is for phones to have ready access to online connectivity. Additionally, for phones to be top-notch, they must have enhanced multimedia options. It is no wonder that high-end phones are becoming almost like computers. Meanwhile, mobile service providers are offering freebies and lesser charges to their services.

The ultimate beneficiaries of these innovations are the people as they get to enjoy amazing phones at affordable rates with faster and enhanced features. At this point, it is relevant to ask whether we can expect more developments from the mobile phone industry or not. If yes, then what are the supposed developments? Your guess is as good as mine. For sure, though, we are going to enjoy and see them in our phones - sooner than later.
